There are a few things to check out once you’ve started your Europa Universalis IV: Emperor campaign assuming you’ve chosen any of the HRE nations. Now, after that war i broke my alliance with Genoa and the Decision told me that genoa was not going to break out of HRE because they were apparently defeated in a war? Not sure if its that but the same happened to the Papal States (yes, they joined the HRE) after they lost a war against France.Īlso, as you only need to ally the italian states to keep them in HRE, it is possible to just ally all italian states in the HRE (ofc going over your diplo limit), pass the decision to prevent them from leaving HRE and after that break alliances with them.Europa Universalis IV: Emperor – Starting as Bohemia In that peacedeal, genoa ofc paid money to Milan, which technically means they lost a war. In my game for example Genoa got seperate peaced out in a war i called them in which was against milan and some other allies. This is kind of unbalanced as of now and still not correctly coded. Idk what counts as good relations, but alliances definitely work. Assuming you've picked the option to try and keep the italian states in the HRE, you need to beat the states you want to keep in the HRE in a war (you just need to win it, dont need to take any provinces) or have "good relations" with them. With emperor dlc, you have to wait for the imperial incident.
It has definitely changed it, but I'm not sure how Though not sure if the new update made changes to the event.
This does mean losing the potential Imperial authority.png Imperial Authority bonus from adding those provinces normally. Thus, Austria can take some or all of the provinces with vassals or PUs, without needing to hold them directly to add them to the HRE as normal. This decision adds the emperor's (& subjects') Italian provinces to the HRE immediately, and prevents the Shadow Kingdom event forever. The Rein in Northern Italy decision allows some extra flexibility in achieving this goal. If all these provinces are in the HRE from 1490 to 1550, the event cannot fire. Preventing the Shadow Kingdom event requires adding eight more provinces to the HRE: Venice's, Treviso, Friuli, and Verona, Urbino, and The Papal State's Ancona, Romagna, Umbria, and Roma.
